.IE or .COM?
Registering a .IE can only be done by companies, individuals and organisation who have registered a "Business Name" or Company with the Companies Registration Office www.cro.ie.
This adds authentication to your domain. Also it is important if you wish to underline the "Irish" nature of your site, that your business is based in Ireland mainly for the Irish market. .IE domains cost approx. €20 per year.
.COM on the other hand is unregulated in that it is first come first served domain. .COM domains cost as little as €10 per year. Important if your domain is global.
